Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accounting Assistant to support our accounting and payroll functions. This role is responsible for job cost tracking, project billing, accounts payable/receivable, and providing backup coverage across all accounting areas including payroll. The ideal candidate will have construction industry experience and be proficient in construction accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate job cost records and project coding
  • Prepare and process progress billings, lien releases, and contract documents
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable within Spectrum
  • Assist with payroll processing and compliance reporting
  • Reconcile accounts, prepare monthly financial reports, and support statements
  • Assist with year-end audits and internal process improvements
  • Serve as backup across all accounting and payroll functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of construction accounting experience
  • Proficiency with Spectrum (Viewpoint) highly desired
  • Strong understanding of job costing, contracts, progress billings and Lien management
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication

Salary

  • $60,000 - $80,000
