Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accounting Assistant to support our accounting and payroll functions. This role is responsible for job cost tracking, project billing, accounts payable/receivable, and providing backup coverage across all accounting areas including payroll. The ideal candidate will have construction industry experience and be proficient in construction accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate job cost records and project coding
- Prepare and process progress billings, lien releases, and contract documents
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable within Spectrum
- Assist with payroll processing and compliance reporting
- Reconcile accounts, prepare monthly financial reports, and support statements
- Assist with year-end audits and internal process improvements
- Serve as backup across all accounting and payroll functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 2+ years of construction accounting experience
- Proficiency with Spectrum (Viewpoint) highly desired
- Strong understanding of job costing, contracts, progress billings and Lien management
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication
Salary
- $60,000 - $80,000
