The Well No. 8 Pump Station is the newest addition to the Town of Discovery Bay’s potable water infrastructure. This high-capacity facility features a submersible well pump capable of delivering over 1,800 gallons per minute (GPM) of potable water to the community.

Project highlights include:

  • A 2-cell horizontal pressure filter system, supplied by Loprest, designed to treat the full 1,800 GPM flow rate, significantly improving the purity and quality of the town’s drinking water.
  • Installation of site underground piping and mechanical process piping to support water distribution and treatment operations.
  • A glass-fused steel backwash tank and reclaim pumping system for efficient filter maintenance and water reuse.
  • Construction of an architectural masonry block chemical building housing treatment systems and chemical storage.
  • A standby diesel generator to ensure operational reliability during power outages.
  • Complete electrical and control systems for automated operation and remote monitoring.
  • Additional site work to support safe and efficient facility operation.

This critical infrastructure project enhances the Town of Discovery Bay’s ability to deliver clean, reliable drinking water to its residents while supporting future growth and regulatory compliance.
